We had a great time finishing off my documentary shoot in port douglas over the last month, we set out to get as much underwater footage as possible, shots of the boat in sail and lots and lots of sunsets! …. Now we have the rather large task of editing over 70 hours of footage!
Check out the slideshow below for some pictures from the shoot.
Last Saturday we spent the day shooting two online videos for the Australian Motorcycle Academy. The weather was absolutely perfect for shooting on location! Our presenter Rob Cifuentes did a wonderful job, along with our photographer for the day Laine Allen from LA Photography!
Here is just a few of the photos from the shoot! We’ll have the final videos online in the next week or so!
So your beloved camera, that wonderful, reliable piece of kit that you use for all your video productions, finally bites the dust…
You pack it up lovingly and hand it (nervously) to a trusty courier, who races it to the manufacturer for repairs…
…and you wait. And wait. And wait.
What now? Have you prepared for the worst? Or will you be left jobless for the foreseeable future? This is unfortunately a very real part of the game we play and it’s important that we have some options at our disposable in case the worst happens. (more…)
Have you ever dreamed of having a remote pan and tilt head for your jib? I know, I know… as an Indie filmmaker we’re not made of money! Well I just stumbled upon a rather elegant and inexpensive solution for small DSLR sized cameras. Thanks to Cheesycam.com for the heads up.
Introducing the Servo City PT785-S Pan & Tilt system, an all aluminium pan and tilt remote head which can handle cameras up to 2.73kg (6lbs). It offers 400 degrees of rotation and, with a bit of ingenuity, could be mounted to just about any jib for use on low budget video productions. I’ve seen heads like this mounted on cranes, remote control heli-rigs, quadrocopters, cars…You name it.
I just wanted to give you an update on my up and coming Feature Documentary.
I started shooting this doco in 2010, and I am now currently at the post production stage, I have over 60 hours of footage to digitise and then sort through into individual scenes. For those of you who don’t know about my documentary take a look at our ongoing projects page, have a read about the film and take a look at the short introduction I shot last year. The Smith family have sold everything they own, their house, cars and even their furniture in order to follow their dream of going sailing around Australia.
